Halloween Events 2018 in and around Orlando

Walt Disney World

Aptly named, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park Walt Disney World®, runs from August 17 - October 31 this year. It starts early in the season so kids can experience it before even going back to school. This lighthearted celebration for kids of all ages is known as the happiest haunting on Earth and your little ghouls and guys can collect candies, sweets and other delightful treats (including allergy-free options)all while the park hosts ghosts and eerie entertainment. Enjoy the show Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, the Happy HalloWishes Fireworks Show and the Boo-to-You Halloween Parade. Kids can also dress up (there are guidelines) for the event.

SeaWorld

Watch silly and spooky live shows, including Pets Ahoy Halloween and Sesame Street Countdown to Halloween as well as go trick or treating for goodies throughout the park.

It's a whale of a good time for the whole family at SeaWorld Orlando's Halloween Spooktacular®. During this daytime event, families are immersed in an underwater fantasea including whimsical sea creatures. SeaWorld's Halloween Spooktacular runs on weekends, September 22 - October 28 and is included in park admission.

Universal Orlando

One of our city's claim to fame is our annual fright fest, Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights™ (HHN).

HHN is recognized as the nation's most popular and industry-awarded haunted theme park event, and for good reason. It's totally awesome. Each year, they feature a different theme and this year is...drum roll...Netflix's hugely popular series Stranger Things with sub themes - 1988's slash epic Halloween 4 The Return of Michael Myers, and the 80s cult classic, Poltergeist.

Going on now (September 14 - November 3) the streets of Universal Studios Florida™ come alive with all-new hordes of mutants, monsters and maniacs. This year, HHN's tagline is The World's Premier Halloween Event Featuring More Houses Than Ever and, indeed, you can explore 10 terrifying haunted houses, brave zombie-filled scare zones, enjoy the live show (this year it's Academy of Villains: Cyberpunk which is a wicked mix of dance, acrobatics and theatrics), and experience many of the park's most exciting rides and attractions.

Wait!

If you've been to HHN before, you know that lines to the haunted houses are long. So here are 2 vital insider tips: Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday are your slower nights to attend. And you can purchase HHN Express Passes to get through the lines quicker and enjoy more of everything. You can also experience many of the park's most exciting rides and attractions. In fact, a huge bonus during HHN is that lines are relatively short for the regular rides because everyone is busy doing other things by which I mean waiting in lengthy lines.

HHN is a 5-star celebration is for thrillseekers 13 years and up. Some themes are violent, and/or tasteless. The scare zones and houses are literally to die for, pun intended, and the overall atmosphere is a memorable night of chilling and thrilling fun.

Not up for theme park frights? How's this for something a little more organic...

A Petrified Forest

This Halloween, experience a new layout format with all new scares in Central Florida's premier haunted scare trail! In this terrifying haunted house, you will find over 85,000 square feet of sheer horror. Best of all, this mega-haunt is located right in the middle of the deep, dark forest...and except for heavy thunderstorms, this scare trail happens, rain or shine. Muddy or not, here we come. Or should I say, "bloody" or not, here we come?

No Tricks to this Treat

Opening Night is Friday, October 5th at 7:30 pm...right around sunset...so come if you dare. This event has a PG-13 rating and is geared towards folks 13 and up. Kids 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult or theyll be eaten alive. Just kidding. For a little extra fear, go on their Total Eclipse Nights, Thursday and Friday, November 1st and 2nd.

Happy Halloween!
