June, glorious June. The month that officially kicks off summer and brings with it lots of sunshine, heat and visitors. There are plenty of fun things to do in the 6th month to keep your family active and entertained. Our world-class theme parks offer up old favorites and plenty of new adventures this summer. Our lush outdoor climate is welcoming for hikers, bikers and swimmers, and International Drive is just waiting to feed and entertain your entire family.
Pentatonix in Concert
If you love music, 3-time Grammy Award-winning acapella group Pentatonix will be in Orlando with Rachel Platten as special guest. Don't miss this moving live show at the Amway Center in downtown Orlando on June 1. A wonderfully melodic way to start your summer vacation.
I love Disney Springs. I can shop, eat, drink and people watch for hours on end and House of Blues (HOB) is, hands down, my favorite venue for live music in Central Florida. The entire month of June, HOB hosts Bourbon Fest, so if you enjoy sipping cocktails, eating great BBQ and relaxing to live music, this is the place to be. It is a family friendly atmosphere as well. National Bourbon Day is June 14th, in case you didn’t know and June 16 is Father’s Day...surprise him with a fun day out! Bourbon Fest runs from June 1 thru June 30.
Summerfest Grape Stomp 2019
Held at Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards in Clermont (less than an hour’s drive from your luxury vacation villa), this tasty event offers delicious food, arts and crafts, live music, free tours, grape stomping, wine tasting, and ample free parking. Admission is $10 for adults, children are free, and a portion of the proceeds go to support the LovExtension, a nonprofit dedicated to helping the elderly and disabled communities in Lake County and The Villages. A win-win for everyone! Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9.
Disney H2O Glow Nights
Since you will most likely hit the theme parks on your summer vaycay, check this out: Disney H2O Glow Nights––the ultimate glow party–– is held at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and is hosted by “Dinosaur of Ceremonies” Rex and his Toy Story pals. The party features special lighting and entertainment, access to all of the park’s attractions, character greetings, a DJ dance party, and an adult-exclusive (much-needed by the shank of the evening) bar area. It’s luminous fun for the entire family. H2O Glow Nights runs from May 30 thru August 24.
Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure
The grand opening of this new and captivating ride is worth mentioning yet again. Your little muggles will be delighted when you tell them you’ll be among the first to experience it at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. This roller coaster journey will take you deep into the Forbidden Forest beyond the grounds of Hogwarts, where you’ll soar past the magical inner workings of J.K. Rowling’s (and some very talented engineers’) brilliant mind. Opens June 13.
