Do you enjoy breathtaking scenery, savoring some five-star dining, or exciting thrill rides at a theme park? If you answered yes to any of these, Orlando is without a doubt the best place to visit. This is the city built for families and making memories. Already been to Disney World? As the saying goes “you ain't seen nothing yet!" With dozens of new attractions to explore, you may have to extend your vacation to fit it all in.
New Rides at Walt Disney's Hollywood Studios
Walt Disney World is in the midst of a significant renovation and expansion, adding with new rides and events on an almost daily basis. In honor of the recent new addition to the Toy Story saga, Walt Disney World has added a whole host of attractions to its already-hopping theme park, Hollywood Studios. Toy Story Land makes you feel as though you’re the size of a toy, expanding on the park’s existing attractions and adding rides like Alien Swirling Saucers and Woody’s Lunchbox - which serves up Toy Story- themed bites. Don’t worry - those are life-sized.
Exciting Events at Universal Orlando
Orlando needs no excuse to throw an awesome party. This city doesn’t wait around for holidays, and hosts events throughout the year. You’ll find everything from concerts to car shows to film festivals no matter what time of the year you visit. The amusement parks are a great place to catch a show, and Universal Orlando recently added a new, nighttime lagoon show that features characters from Universal's most popular attractions. This show is enhanced with special effects and custom lighting. A must-see stop on your Orlando bucket list.
Maka a Splash at Seaworld
SeaWorld is no stranger to providing exciting aquatic rides, and the latest dose for adrenaline junkies comes in the form of its new attraction, Infinity Falls. This ride brings you on a thrilling adventure through waterfalls, fountains, and, of course, the remains of an ancient civilization. It features a major drop and is sure to get you soaked.
Eat to your Heart's Content
You can find just about any type of cuisine. Orlando was once known for chain restaurants. Now it's home to award-winning chefs and unique celebrity-owned restaurants. You can find soul food, barbecue, ethnic, or seafood cuisine anywhere you turn in Orlando. Among the newest restaurants is Delaney’s Tavern. This restaurant is located inside a boutique hotel and offers international cuisine in both small plate and shareable, tapas-like settings. With a 360 degree bar, this restaurant is a must-visit spot. If you’re in the mood for an on-park dinner, check out Maria and Enzo’s Ristorante in Disney Springs, which offers Italian fare with exquisite views.
It's a Verdant Oasis
Orlando offers incredible year-round outdoor activities. The area is home to 2,000 lakes, rivers, and springs for swimming, fishing, and boating. Did we mention the surplus of two-hundred golf courses and one-thousand tennis courts? The city is also home to multiple new, more organized experiences. The Drive Shack, just a few minutes from the airport, offers some spins on the game of golf in which you are faced with unique challenges such as battling monsters.
Plenty of Places to Stay
Orlando has never been short on places to lay your head at night, but with the recent boom in visitors, there’s also been a surge in new construction. Storey Lake Resort is just a few miles from Walt Disney World and the I-4 corridor. They have vacation homes, great for family reunions since there’s a restaurant, pool, sports court and golf all within walking distance. Windsor Hills is also right next to the theme parks. It offers beautiful pools (when you’re tired of all the rides) and all the conveniences of home. Great for that large family get-together, or a business retreat.
With all these exciting places to explore, it’s no wonder Orlando is the vacation mecca for any kind of traveler. It’s no wonder the city is experiencing a major population boom and is expected to continue to grow in the next few years. Don’t get left behind - plan your trip to Orlando today to experience where the magic truly happens.
