This blog has become a mini-series due to all the new and wonderful adventures opening up in the Orlando area this year. Here are just a few more your family can enjoy in 2019.
In a previous blog, I mentioned the LEGO Movie World that is coming to LEGOLAND this year. The Quest for Chi, an interactive boat ride and one of the park’s most popular attractions, has gotten a makeover and it’s upgraded version will become part of The LEGO Movie World in 2019.
Dezerland Actions Park
Coming to the International Drive, area this 250,000 square foot indoor theme park will feature the Orlando Auto Museum - one of the world's largest privately owned collections of "automobilia.” Plus it will have specialty car lounges full of restored vintage, classic and international vehicles. A car-lover’s delight.
This 13-acre land of adventures is expanding by more than six times its current size and adding a 2-mile drive-through safari that will have you and your loved ones “nose-to-snout” with exotic creatures. Plus, 75 additional acres will debut this summer, and the safari section will include an exhilarating zip line over a grazing area. Hold tight. That’s my advice.
Disney Springs - The NBA Experience
This state-of-the-art venue will include interactive games and competitions, immersive experiences, and of course, a retail store. Got a b-ball lover in your family? This is a slam dunk experience that brings NBA thrills to life for people of all ages.
New Dining Experience
Disney Springs is such a fun place to be! Now, City Works Eatery and Pour House is opening and will feature 80 beers on tap, shareable American fare, and live sports on HDTVs. After dinner, head over to the new NBA Experience and burn off calories while making fun memories.
The Orlando area has more than 5,000 restaurants and WalletHub named us one of the top 10 Best Foodie Cities in the U.S. last year. So, 2019 seems quite promising. Here are two new dining venues at Pointe Orlando (outside a theme park setting) that sound great for tourists and locals alike.
The Hampton Social
This Chicago original (even though it’s named for New York’s rich-folk playground) is coming to Pointe Orlando, located on the tourist-centric International Drive. They specialize in seafood, pizza, and brunch, and are known for unique dishes like Chicken and Doughnuts, and a signature "Rosé All Day.” What do you want to bet that there’s a t-shirt with that saying on it?
Lotus Asia House
This vibrant new venue offers creative cocktails (I’m there!) and Pan-Asian cuisine inspired by street-food vendors, all served in a warm and spacious dining room that was designed to encourage mingling. Meeting new friends in Orlando has never been easier.
