Summertime in Florida, we all know, is hot, hot, hot which makes our world-class water parks full, full, full. And, of course, fun, fun, fun! Don your swim togs, pack your SPF, and cool down and chill out on your Central Florida vacation.
SeaWorld’s own water park, Aquatica, is one of the most popular spots to literally chill out in Orlando. With more than 11 sparkling pools and exhilarating slides, Aquatica offers wet and wild fun for every age group in your family. And when you are ready to just relax in the water, head to Loggerhead Lane, a leisurely raft ride takes you through an underwater world colored by exotic tropical fish.
Waterlogged? Retreat to your own beachfront or poolside hideaway by renting a private cabana. Want to make your day extra relaxing? Have breakfast, lunch, and snacks delivered straight to your private cabana table by simply placing your order and requesting a delivery time. Enjoy lounging the day away in cool comfort and convenience. It gets pretty crowded during the summer months so if you want to speed things up a bit you can get their Quick Queue pass and get front-of-the-line access. NOTE: their new slide, KareKare Curl, which opened this past April is now closed until further notice.
Disney Water Parks
Blizzard Beach (BB) is a former (make-believe) snow ski resort that melted in the Florida heat. Hence the name and the “snow caps.” BB has twelve attractions (including 7 main water slides) and eight refreshment venues including restaurants, snack stands, and bars. Visit Mount Gushmore, which houses most of the slides. And of course, cruise down Cross Country Creek, their lazy river, for sheer relaxation. BB also offers the Ski Patrol Training Camp—a play area geared toward pre-teens and BB, in general, has more kid-centric activities than its sister water park, Typhoon Lagoon. All information for the parks are located here.
The theme of Typhoon Lagoon (TL) is that it was a tropical island paradise that eventually developed into a small resort destination called Placid Palms Resort. At the heart of TL is the large Surf Pool with its beaches, all flanked by the lazy river, Castaway Creek. Both parks offer cabana and locker rental as well as dining venues so you can make an entire day of it. Note: A one-day ticket does allow entrance to both water parks in a single day.
Live the island life at Volcano Bay, the newest water park in the Orlando area. Enjoy beautiful Waturi Beach, body slides, drop slides, a winding lazy river, an exhilarating raft ride, and the awesome Krakatau Aqua Coaster, a twisting, turning joyride that combines the excitement of a rollercoaster with the wet fun of a flume ride. Rent a cabana, enjoy several restaurants and refreshment stands. Use your super convenient TapuTapu wristband to ride most of the attractions, activate interactive surprises, open rental lockers, make cash-free payments and more. A Florida summertime must-do! And speaking of convenience, all these major parks are just a short ride from your luxury vacation villa.
