Cheap and Free Things to do in Orlando Pt.1
How does giving your wallet a break sound? You save up to enjoy your holiday in Orlando and some things you just don’t want to skimp on… you surround yourself and your family in a luxury vacation villa, experience world-class theme parks, delight in good meals, and purchase mementos that will bring you joy for a lifetime. It adds up. Fast. So, if you want to relax with a picnic, a film, a long outdoor stroll, or enjoy live music on a day between park hopping, here are a few ideas of inexpensive or free things you can do on your vacation that make splurging on other things a whole lot easier.
Old Town Kissimmee
It’s like stepping back in time at this retro-feel shopping, dining, and entertainment complex. My favorite thing there? The cars. For the auto enthusiasts in your family, check out their Saturday Night Classic Car Show & Cruise for show-quality hot- and street-rods, and classics all from 1983 and earlier. The Friday Night Muscle Car Show & Cruise is the absolute bomb! Any day I can behold a moss green ‘67 Mustang fastback or a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS in Fathom Blue with white racing stripes is a great day! *Swoon* Free admission.
Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek
Take a tour (guided or self – there are information panels and maps on-site) and enjoy a stroll through the gently preserved history of how life was lived in old Florida. Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for kids 4 to 12. Open 7 days a week.
Summer Music Series Lakeridge Winery
Every Saturday afternoon during the month of July Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards, located in nearby Clermont, holds its annual Summer Music Series, with live music and a variety of food options. Spend a relaxing afternoon under sunny Florida skies with the family and enjoy a meal with a delicious glass of wine while listening to the sounds of talented local musicians. Lakeridge also offers free tours and tastings seven days a week.
Summertime Movie Nights in Orlando
Sure our days are filled with heat and sunshine but when the sun sets, we enjoy balmy evenings under starry skies. The perfect time for an outdoor movie. There are several films and locations to choose from and some include Food Trucks, picnic facilities, and nearby restaurants so you and your family can make a night of it before ending your evening with a fun film. I’d venture to say that each film offered is family-friendly but so you can choose for yourself by visiting here for all the movie dates, locations, and amenities. Free fun for everyone.
