New Year’s Eve 2017 Orlando–Style

We all know Orlando offers a plethora of fun things to do all year long and New Year’s Eve is no exception. And, as a plus, it usually delivers good weather, too. Here you will find a short list of events to help you and your family ring in the new year in style. Orlando–style.

The following events are all family-friendly.

Walt Disney World Resort:

Magic Kingdom

End a day of fun with the year-ending “Fantasy in the Sky” – the fireworks spectacular can be viewed at 11:50 pm on both December 30 and 31.Epcot

Eat your way around the world and then party hearty. The World Showcase will feature DJs, live music, dancing and the flavors of the world, plus New Year’s fireworks at 11:40 pm.Disney’s Hollywood Studios

After a park–wide countdown to 2018, the family can revel in the “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” and party till 1 am.Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Eat, dance and play games with your favorite Disney–Pixar characters at Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration.

SeaWorld Orlando gets in on the action with midnight fireworks, musical performances and interactive DJ stations. And Legoland Florida Resort offers up a kids–focused party that will drop a giant Lego brick to commemorate the new year at 7 pm, so kids don’t have to stay up till midnight to celebrate.

New Year’s EVE 2017

And now, on to the biggest Orlando area New Year’s Eve event, CityWalk’s EVE at Universal Orlando Resort. I’m going to give you the details of course, but also my own interpretation of it since I’ve attended at least eight times. Does that give you an idea of how much I like it?

It seems the whole year has been leading up to this event: EVE, Universal CityWalk’s jam–packed New Year’s celebration. Enjoy signature drinks. Feast on unlimited gourmet cuisine. Yes, unlimited. Cut a rug in six awesome CityWalk clubs with live bands and DJs. And if dancing the night (and year) away sounds like your kind of NYE, you’re in luck because here is where you’ll find Orlando’s biggest outdoor dance floor. The whole night is glitzy and glamorous with a fantastic variety of music genres (depending on which of the clubs you are in) and a champagne toast over midnight fireworks.

Fun for Foodies

Let me back up and ruminate on the food stations for just a moment. Good food is an integral part of ringing in a happy and healthy new year, don’t you agree? Processed cheese on stale crackers is no way to kick off a fresh new year. So how does roasted sirloin sound? How about custom desserts? Lovely vegetables and other accoutrements are laid out table after delicious table. Honestly though, the only reason I leave the sirloin carving station is to assault the jumbo shrimp table. One time, I lingered so long in front of the colossal crustaceans, I rang in two new years.
