Thanksgiving in Orlando – Where to Dine!

Thanksgiving in Orlando part 2

Do you want to stay close to home and keep it all a little low-key this Thanksgiving Day? Let me tell you about T-Day along International Drive, just a short drive from your Orlando luxury vacation villa. That way, you can sleep late, hang out with the fam and take your time getting ready for your big feast and then after dinner, head home and relax by your private pool and reminisce about Thanksgiving 2019 in beautiful Orlando.

International Drive (affectionately shortened to I-Drive) is an 11-mile-long strip of pretty much everything you could want on your trip to theme park heaven. Enjoy shopping, dining, and entertainment of all kinds from bars to movie theaters, comedy clubs to world-famous themed attractions. Make a day of it, then enjoy a turkey dinner to remember. Best of all, I-Drive is not far from your vacation rental so an “after turkey dinner” dip in your private pool lets you indulge as much as you want on T-Day this year. Another slice of fresh and spicy pumpkin pie, please! All of the following venues are family-friendly and also require reservations.

Tapa Toro

Make 2019 a little different by celebrating at this Spanish-style tapas venue. Enjoy their regular menu or opt for their 3-course Thanksgiving offering. As usual, at 7 PM the Flamenco dancing starts and turns your Thanksgiving into an extra special Graciasgiving.

Taverna Opa

If the fam is feeling Greek, head to Taverna Opa who offers authentic Greek cuisine with the tagline, “The night isn’t over until the Ouzo runs out.” Indulge in their regular menu lamb chops, tzatziki, hummus, dolmades, moussaka, and other traditional Greek dishes, or enjoy their 3-course Thanksgiving dinner. Taverna Opa also offers live entertainment (Belly dancing) at 7 PM. Just remember not to smash your plates while yelling, “Opa!”

Cafe Tu Tu Tango

This colorful boho cafe with a Spanish flair is a staple along International Drive. Its artistic atmosphere and daily live entertainment make this place memorable long after you’ve left Orlando. Eclectic small plates made from scratch and the red or white sangrias are its specialties. Your Thanksgiving meal is sure to be a hit in this fun and vibrant restaurant.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse

Maybe you are looking for fine dining that is truly upscale. If so, skip the flip flops and tank tops, dress the fam to the 9’s, and head down to Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse where they are offering their elegant take on Thanksgiving with a prix fixe menu in addition to their regular fare.

The Capital Grille (Pointe Orlando)

Here’s a name you may recognize as they are a chain restaurant without seeming too chain-y. Similar to Del Frisco’s, The Capital Grille offers elegant surroundings for a more upscale Thanksgiving experience. It features a traditional T-Day meal at a very reasonable price for both adults and kids. It’s also conveniently located inside Pointe Orlando a complex that boasts bars, a comedy club, an arcade, and a movie theater so, after dinner, you have a great place to hang out and enjoy your Orlando Thanksgiving holiday.
