Christmas in Celebration
Did You Know it’s Now Snowing in Florida?
If you’re visiting Orlando for the holidays, a white Christmas is probably the last thing on your mind. But the Town of Celebration – a vintage throwback to traditional America that gets even more magical during the holidays – would never let a little bit of tropical heat and sunshine get in the way of Now Snowing.
Now Snowing is a month–long wintry wonderland spectacular. It is Central Florida’s original and premier “Snowing” event and is a long–running tradition with locals and visitors alike.
This fun event features live shows, street performers, Santa visits, horse–drawn carriage rides, spectacular light shows, train rides, ice skating and a schedule filled with surprises for the entire family. Step back in time when you are serenaded by the strolling Charles Dickens Carolers – professional studio singers decked out in authentic, handmade Victorian costumes – who add the perfect touch to your holidays in Central Florida.
Treat the kids to photos with Santa in his cute Christmas cottage each day right up until December 24. Of course he would linger longer but, you know, he’s going to be very busy later that night. If you’re traveling with pets, Santa has Pet Night every Wednesday if you want a poochy picture with him. Santa’s Hours: 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. all other nights.
Just Hear Those Sleigh Bells Jingling…
Romantic for a couple, enchanting for a family, all ages will love the horse–drawn carriages. Some are ornate and traditional, others are lit up like Cinderella’s carriage. Whatever your preference, don’t miss the horse and carriage rides.
- Wagon Rides – $5.00 per person
- Horse and Carriage Rides (standard limo carriage) – $45 (1–4 passengers)*
- Horse and Carriage Rides (Cinderella Carriage) – $65 (1–4 passengers)*
- Horse and Carriage Rides (Sleigh) – $55 (1–4 passengers).
- *Plus $10 for each additional rider
- Special Holiday Home Tour Rides: (30/40 minutes in length to see the lights throughout Celebration) – $25 per person
If a horse and carriage ride is not for you, board the Celebration Express train and take it easy while you see the sights. The price is right, too: $5 at the gate or $4 if you purchase in advance.
Ice Skating
Chill out and glide on at Endless Ice Skating Rink. All ages will love this synthetic ice rink and if you plan on visiting more than once, ask about the multiple–day skate passes. $10.00 for a 1/2 hour minimum skate (skate rental included) and it is open from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. daily through January 1, 2018.
Now Snowing event parking and admission are free. You can’t beat that. And you don’t have to venture too far from home to enjoy this snow spectacular and its holiday events. Celebration is conveniently located between Highway 192 and Interstate 4 near Walt Disney World, and near your luxury vacation villa.
Experience this very “cool” event every night through December 31, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. The nightly snowfall happens at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00 p.m.
